This little pendant was found in a womans grave at the burial grounds at Birka in Sweden, it is interpretated as a "Valkyrie", a female warrior who serves under Odin in Valhal. This pendant shows her greeting the newly fallen warriors welcome to Valhal.
The Valkyries was also those who chose the human warriors who would die at the battleground, and after the battle they afterwards accompanied the warriors to Valhal where they would take good care of them until the final battle in Ragnarok.

The pendnt is shown in silver, but can also be made in bronze or gold, it´s about 29mm high, weighs about 7 gram and has a 2,2mm hole through a loop on the backside, which fits a leatherlace perfectly.
