This brooch is a replica of a find from a womans grave in Zaozere, in the southeastern part of the Ladoga-area (Russia) and is dated to the 9. century, the original was made in bronze.
The brooch is a so-called "rasselbrooch" where the dangling ducks-feet make a little noise when the wearer moves around.
It is about 38mm wide and 30mm high, with the "rassels" it is about 70mm high and weighs about 27g in silver.
This version is mounted without a broochpin at the back, just like the original.
